What does the Luxembourg immunisation programme cover?

Currently, the Ministry of Health offers the following vaccinations free of charge to parents for their children:

  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Diphtheria
  • Rotavirus gastroenteritis
  • Hepatitis B
  • HIB (haemophilus influenzae type B)
  • Meningococcal meningitis
  • Mumps
  • Pneumococcus
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Measles
  • Rubella (German measles)
  • Tetanus
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

Most vaccinations administered during infancy give long-term protection, which does not require renewals after the age of 2 years.
However, some vaccines should be periodically renewed during childhood, adolescence and even in adulthood.

Reminders will be indicated in the vaccination record which is maintained for each child.
