Mother's Day is held on the 4th Sunday in Lent, 3 weeks before Easter Sunday. On this day Mothers get cards and gifts of chocolates and flowers and are sometimes taken out to lunch or are cooked lunch by the rest of the family. In 2017, Mother's Day will be held on the 26th of March 2017.
Valentine's Day is held on the 14th of February each year, cards, chocolates and gifts are exchanged between couples.
Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Tuesday, is the last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Shrove Tuesday is linked to Easter, so its date changes on an annual basis. The date can vary from as early as February 3rd to as late as March 9th. People make pancakes, sweet and savoury to celebrate the day.
