The citizenship status of your child, if he/she was born before you arrived in the country, is that of Alien. However, alien minors residing permanently and legally in Greece are entitled acquisition of Greek citizenship due to attending Greek school, when they have successfully completed the attendance of nine grades of school or six secondary grades of school. Attendance in kindergarten is not counted.
