Kindergartens in the state of Thüringen have the task of providing children with integrated linguistic education according to the "Education plan up to the age of 18" and to support language development.
A statewide survey on the language level of children is currently not being carried out in Thüringen.
Language learning in German as a second language for immigrant pupils takes place in Thüringen at all general education schools in one-to-one lessons, in small groups of five or more pupils or in language classes. The language lessons go for a maximum of two years.
