In Thüringen, there is a right to school transport for pupils of the primary schools and the special schools up to grade 4 with a distance of at least two kilometres, for pupils of secondary schools with a distance of at least three kilometres. Exceptions apply to shorter routes that are particularly dangerous or that are particularly onerous due to disability. Priority is given to the use of public transport. If your child is entitled to benefits from the education and participation package, the costs for student transport between the place of residence and the school will be covered.
