Children have a right to care, education and supervision by the parents (§ 1631 Abs. 1 BGB). The care includes everything from the supply of food and accommodation to the necessary doctor's visit. Supervision should protect the child.
Children have a right to non-violent education. Physical punishments, mental injuries and other degrading measures are inadmissible (§ 1631 Abs. 2 BGB).
A minor child can demand maintenance from a parent with whom they do not live in a household (§ 1612a BGB).
