The birth of the child must also be reported to the registry office even if you do not have any personal documents. The birth of the child is recorded in the birth register. If you are unable to prove your identity by means of personal documents, the birth register will include the child's first name and family name, place, day, hour and minute of birth and the sex of the child. The name of the mother and father can be added on presentation of personal documents.

Without evidence of your identity through personal documents, the registry office will not issue you with a birth certificate for the child.

In any case, you are required to obtain the necessary personal documents to prove your identity. The entry and the stay without valid identification papers / valid passport in the Federal Republic of Germany is punishable
