What are my rights concerning my child’s education?
Germany - Niedersachsen
English
Do you have a child aged 3-6?

Both at kindergarten and at school, parents have the following rights:

Advice and information rights

Parents have the right to receive regular information about basic and current issues in kindergarten and school and the right to information and advice about their child's learning development.

Participation rights

Parents have the right (and duty) to participate in the education of their children. Through the parents' representatives, the parents are involved in the education and teaching work of kindergarten and school.

In parental committees at city, county or state level, parents' representatives can bring in the interests of all parents and have the right to be informed and to be heard on important education issues.
