All school-age children without German language skills are assigned to so-called pre-courses, where they receive language lessons. The preliminary courses take place in schools throughout Bremen. Refugee children and unaccompanied refugee minors receive initial language training by teachers in the registration center. These language learning courses are free. In regular school education, language education and language support are systematically continued as an integrated measure in primary and secondary schools
