When enrolling for elementary school you have the choice between a state or a private elementary school. If you choose a state elementary school, you must register your child in the primary school that is responsible for the region in which you live (registration school). Each street in Bremen is assigned to a primary school, so that all children have the shortest possible way to school. For lower secondary school parents can choose between the types of Oberschule and Gymnasium. For the enrollment you can specify three schools (first, second, third choice).
