Children can learn the German language in kindergarten, at school and in daily life or in intercultural meeting places.
Kindergartens in the state of Baden-Württemberg have the mission to support children in language development. If children have an intensive need for language support, they can receive additional language support throughout the entire kindergarten period (for children from the age of 2 years and 7 months).

All school-age children without German language skills are assigned to preliminary courses, where they receive language lessons. Refugee children and unaccompanied refugee minors receive initial language training in the registration center. These language learning courses are free. In regular school education, language education and language support are systematically continued as an integrated measure in primary and secondary schools.
