In schools in Baden-Württemberg mother tongue additional education is offered by the corresponding Consulates. The content and organizational structure of the lessons in the respective first language is in responsibility of the countries of origin and is not subject to state school supervision. At present, mother tongue additional education is offered by 14 countries of origin: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Croatia, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Tunisia and Hungary. The attendance of the mother tongue additional teaching or certification offers of the consulates to the language of origin can be documented in the school report or in the learning development report.
