Yes, they are called "national tests". They test the students' knowledge and skills in seven different subjects. Ten tests are mandatory from 2nd to 8th grade, and four tests can be taken voluntarily.
The tests are not graded, but are supposed to give teachers and parents an idea of the student's academic level.
Furthermore, when the child is finishing the required ten years of schooling, there are between three or four exams.
