Do you have a child aged 16-18 years?

If you know or suspect your child has some difficulties, you can ask to meet with your child’s teachers to find out what can be done to help your child. If these difficulties persist or if they are very significant, the teacher and the school will refer you to specialized agencies that can assist you: PMS or CLB centers, homework schools or other centers. There are also dedicated schools for children with learning disabilities starting at pre-school.

Many children with special needs can be catered for in mainstream schools, some schools have a permanent member of staff who is a special needs expert. For children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the usual approach is for them to be educated in a mainstream school with additional support.
