What legal abilities does my child have?

Do you have a child aged 6-12?

In Belgium one is considered a minor until the age of 18 (except in the case of emancipation). Therefore, during the first 18 years of life, one has the official status of a minor. Furthermore, what this status also signifies is that the minor is considered “incapable of discernment.” This inability signals their legal incapacity (one can not perform certain legal acts).
