What are the rights of parents in school?

Do you have a child aged 12-16?

You have the right to choose your child’s school and the right to know what is going on in your child’s life at school. There are regular parent-teacher meetings, which you may attend, even if language problems and unfamiliarity may prove challenging. You can meet your child’s teachers, and it is possible to help them get to know your child better and will allow you to better understand what is going on at school. It is also possible to ask for help from other parents. Parents associations usually help parents have their opinions heard and allow them to participate in how the school runs.  As a parent, you can decide on certain subjects your child may or may not take (for example religion/morality classes).
