Is it legal to take somebody else’s child to another country with me?
Belgium
English
Do you have a child aged 0-3 or expecting a baby?

There are no Belgian or international forms or procedures that lay down rules on parental authorization for the travel of minors. However, it is recommended that you provide written authorization of parental consent. To avoid any unpleasant surprises, ask about the additional documents required for children traveling alone or with only one of their parents at the embassy or consulate of your destination country.

* Warning: Refugee status prohibits you from contacting the embassy of your country of origin. You have the right to go abroad, but if you return to your country of origin you risk losing your refugee status!
